Farmers Branch Historical Park Wedding | Grant + Rachel

August 3, 2015

We felt delighted to be a part of Grant and Rachel’s love story. Their Farmers Branch Historical Park Wedding was beautiful and special. Having documented the unraveling of their wedding day, I easily realized that their love was something special. Something intentional. Something strong. From the moment I started photographing the details of their wedding, I knew it was going to feel different. And it did.

They weren’t just like photographing any other wedding details. These details were handmade. These details were one of a kind. Rachel and her loved ones’ fingerprints were everywhere. I was in awe of her bouquet that she made with so much love. Rachel made her bouquet out of handwritten letters that had been exchanged between her and Grant while they were dating. She substituted these for pedals that her flower girls dropped down the aisle, and she made Grant’s boutonnière out of them, as well. Did I mention that their grandmothers were their flower girls? Because they were, and they were the CUTEST–the absolute best. This was yet another moment during their wedding day that I was smiling ear-to-ear. Not a detail was missed or forgotten. She wore her grandma’s broch around her neck, and she displayed her grandmother’s lace tablecloth on the guest sign-in table. Rachel’s brother officiated the wedding and shared Jesus’ sweet love while doing so. It was an intimate family gathering as Rachel and Grant vowed before God to love one another forever.

Their “first look” was just as special as every other detail of their wedding. She tapped his shoulder before he turned around in awe as he saw her stunning white dress and genuine smile. He looked into the eyes of his forever bride and couldn’t stop smiling. I realized just how much time we were able to spend documenting the love between them through bride and groom pictures before the ceremony and sunset pictures after their “I dos”. I am so tickled by them and the incredible backgrounds we were able to shoot! Their venue was beautiful; their reception intimate and fun; and their excitement contagious.

Just as her sister said during toasts, Rachel loves everyone she comes across. She and Grant did just that for us and made our time with them so enjoyable. They thanked their guests with vintage keys with a little note that read, “you play a key role in our lives” and they made CDs for everyone with their favorite songs. I’m telling you, the intentionality and thought that went into their wedding was incredible. We are so thrilled that their romantic EHarmony love story, love letters and simply their love brought them to where they are today.

Congrats, Grant and Rachel. There are many who are so excited for you both!
