2019–the summer I fell in love with newborn photography…
In April of 2017, my daughter Aubrey Jean was born, and I completely fell in love with our own experience from our newborn photographer Liz Novi. As many of you know, these early days and weeks are just so fleeting, because newborns change SO rapidly. As a parent, you’re in a fog, but you don’t really realize it, because you’re blinded by LOVE (and a little lack of sleep).
Pictures are just worth everything to me. Capturing those fleeting moments so to freeze them forever is everything to me.
So once I fell in love with being IN FRONT OF the camera (that sounds weird) and couldn’t get enough warm fuzzies from the photos of those early days, I knew that I had to take some newborn photos for our cousins, Brett and Melissa, who had baby Hank just two weeks after Aubrey was born. I JUMPED at the opportunity to take photos for them, and I would’ve begged them if they hadn’t accepted my offer 😉 I then continued to fall more and more in love to where…
I jumped in a little.
This first year of Aubrey’s life is intentionally slower than my norm with weddings. So where my schedule allows, I decided to offer newborn sessions, and as it turns out, it’s continued to be near and dear to my heart–especially because I’m so close to this stage of life. And extra especially because I happen to photograph many past couples and people I know.
I continued to jump in..
