Talk about a uniquely incredible wedding from the photographer’s point of view.

All aspects of Jake and Mary’s wedding were absolutely ideal.  From the evident love that was mutual between the two of them, to the vendors that Jordan and I were able to work with.  Everything was in our favor.  We just adored Jake and Mary, their friends and family, the vendors, the venue, the details, the entire day.

I knew Mary was an ideal bride for us in that she adored natural lighting.  It was something that she saw in our style and desired, and she saw something special in the rest of her vendors, as well.  She raved about each and every one of her vendors that she had booked.  It dawned on me that this isn’t something common for us to hear from brides.  I loved that she was excited, not only about the unraveling of events on her wedding day, but about the people behind the scenes who would be working hard for them. And it turns out, we just adored them all the same.  I knew that this kindness in Mary was a reason why they both had so many friends and family at their wedding whom were overjoyed to witness their becoming one.

I mean…did you see the look on all of her bridesmaid’s faces when she revealed her wedding dress to them in their suite!? Pure joy. Pure beauty. The genuine excitement that radiated from all who were in the room was so incredible to witness and capture!

As you have heard before, I just love toasts during the reception. I learn so much about the couple I’m working with, and I love it dearly.  One thing I took from the Maid of Honor’s speech and admire about Mary is that she’s invested with her dear friends.  She mentioned how Mary will always pick up the phone and give her friends a call just to connect.  I love this and hope to get better at this myself.  But this piece about Mary fit into the puzzle perfectly: her positivity and excitement toward her vendors, the relationship with her friends and family and the genuine love and admiration she shows toward Jake.

I know without a doubt that this is one of the many qualities that Jake saw in Mary and fell in love with. He knew she was beautiful inside out.

I just loved being such a special part of their wedding day and learning more about their love story.  There were so many details to be cherished and remember. I’m smiling as I list a few: Mary used the fan in her bouquet that her mother and grandmother displayed in their own bouquets, her converse shoes, the catering of Fuego Tortilla Grill (which is their favorite), the song Mary’s sister wrote and surprised her with, and the homemade fire starters they made to hand out to guests.

But truly, if you were there, you know the Oberg wedding was a celebration you didn’t want to miss! The DJ had everyone dancing the night away, and the Oberg’s left with a magical kiss amongst the bubbles!!

We’re so pumped for them and thankful to be a part of their memorable day!

Congrats Mary and Jake!! Hugs to you guys!!
