Ecstatic.

This adjective describes me when I was asked to photograph this “session”, and it most definitely describes both Alex and Esmeralda upon their engagement!

Alex is a nurse with Jordan at Methodist Dallas.  I remember meeting him when we first moved to Dallas when we were getting to know Jordan’s coworkers over pizza and wine at a restaurant downtown.  From that day I met Alex, I appreciated what a kind and hardworking guy he was. I know Jordan really enjoys working with him at work too. It didn’t surprise me when I met his girlfriend Esmeralda at the beginning of our session, and she was just as sweet as could be. She looked absolutely gorgeous for her “couple’s session”!

I couldn’t have praised Alex enough for this brilliant idea to schedule a “couple’s session” and propose in the middle of it! We planned ahead, and I read his cues. Their proposal ended up perfectly.

We took pictures here, there, and a few other places, because let’s face it, there are so many lovely places to photograph at the Arboretum.  And putting them in the frame just made it even lovelier!

As we were planning to make our way to a certain location for the proposal, I could tell Alex read Esmeralda. She had mentioned more than once about how pretty the view with the lake was. As we walked down the steps, I took his cue and smiled.

I knew that he decided this spot was more special than any. The spot that was right in front of the lakeside view where Esmeralda had been eyeing and loving.

He made their proposal so special.  He had spent hours creating a slideshow of the two of them throughout their 7 years of dating.  The slideshow finished with the song “Marry Me” by Bruno Mars.

It had me dancing in my shoes!!

He got down on one knee, and there wasn’t a dry eye between the three of us.

So special.

I’m so honored to be a part of their special, intimate memory! Congratulations, Alex and Esmeralda!! Hugs to you both!!
