Charleston Destination Pictures | By Rachel Red Photography

March 10, 2016

You guys. You should know by now. I love pictures.

I love pictures of you; I love pictures of us; I love pictures of new of things. But one thing that just fires me up is getting pictures of us in new places.

New places can be just about anywhere other than Texas or New Mexico. New places such as Charleston? Oh, be still my heart.

Dreams do come true! Rachel Red Photography captured the charm and beauty of Charleston perfectly in our destination pictures of us. I asked Jordan if I could technically call them “anniversary pictures” just to not be over-obsessive with pictures, and he said “no”. So.

“Destination pictures” they are! And I am so happy to have one of my favorite cities documented in such a fun way! I could’ve strolled these streets on bike or by foot forever. Thankfully, we were on the receiving end of Rachel’s gift, and I couldn’t be more pleased!

I think it’s beneficial for photographers to be on the other end of the camera every now and then, because I seem to always pick up and learn a thing or two that I think they do well. Rachel was phenomenal, made us feel so comfortable and obviously so confident in her trade.  There were many positive things I picked up from her! Her successful wedding photography business in Charleston is inspiring, and it was a pleasure meeting her sweet self!

I’ll share a more extensive post of our time in Charleston, but for now, I’ll leave you with our top 3 favorite restaurants and experiences! Because you know, Charleston is known as the foodie capital of the south!

Top 3 Favorite Restaurants in Charleston

  • Toast of Charleston: the most delicious breakfast I have ever, ever eaten!

  • 82 Queen: courtyard romantic dinner for two with incredible seafood.

  • Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q: Taco Tuesday BBQ was incredible! So so good.

Top 3 Favorite Experiences in Charleston

  • Old Sheldon Church Ruins: we stumbled across this outside of Charleston and were just in awe. Gotta get that little bit of history in there!

  • Bicycling through the quaint downtown streets and along the bay of Charleston–that breeze and the views! You have multi-million dollar homes on  your right and the bay to your left. The bikes made it so fun and easy to explore–quicker than by foot and more versatile than in a car!

  • Walking through the Market in downtown Charleston: so many vendors and such a fun environment!

    • Okay, I couldn’t just choose 3! We’ll add this and expand on it in a future post: happy hour during sunset at Fleet Landing, a local restaurant on the bay that used to be an old navy dock. I’m telling you–delicious, those views, and we found ourself there maybe 4 times. No joke. Okay!

These are just a few of our favorites that we wanted to share with our “destination pictures”. We’ll share more pictures, restaurants and “must-sees” soon! But for now, we’re boarding our flight and headed home to Dallas!

See you soon, Charleston!
