The Brooks at Weatherford Wedding | Tessa & Wood

May 9, 2017

One of the most beautiful weekends of the Dallas springtime, and Tessa and Wood were lucky enough to exchange vows, become one and share their first dance on such a lovely day.

Though a man of few, important words, something stood out to me after the wedding as I began writing this blog and remembering the special moments of the Speed’s wedding day. Tessa and Wood chose to not share a traditional “first look” before the ceremony, but they did opt to hold hands and exchange vows in private. While we didn’t hear the vows shared, we were able to capture a moment or two of them doing so from afar, I couldn’t help but notice the obvious emotion within the event. Tessa was moved by the words and vows that Wood read her, and this man of few words sure had a thing or two to share with his soon-to-be wife. I can’t think of a more important, meaningful time to open up your heart than to your wife on your wedding day.

You guys, this sweet couple just had my heart triggering my camera, because they were so easy to love. I have reason to believe that they were more concerned about the commitment and joy of their wedding day than the planning or details that can be forgotten.

Though, speaking of details, I won’t forget the lovely and large seating chart, the wedding shoes Tessa wore down the aisle that were the same shoes her mom wore down the aisle or the gifted wine glass as a guest favor. These were just a few of the memorable details that I can take with me! And their venue—what a beautiful place to celebrate nuptials in nature. With the fire pits outside the reception hall and the open walls of the church to allow a nice breeze and natural lighting on the bride and groom, the vibe of the Brooks at Weatherford was lovely.

It makes a photographer feel lucky when she has such a sweet, beautiful couple like Tessa and Wood. What a soft and sweet spirit Tessa has, and like her dad said during his toast, she’s just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. And you can obviously tell how lovely Tessa is! What a beautiful bride she makes! And what a beautiful wedding party and family she was able to celebrate with May 5th!

It was such a treat to photograph the ivory, gold and grey Speed wedding, and I hope you enjoy!

Thank you so much for sharing this!! We were so sad that we weren’t able to attend but at least this gives us a glimpse of Tessa & Wood’s beautiful day.
