Highland Park Presbyterian Church & Crescent Court Hotel Wedding | Charlie & Brandi

May 13, 2017

Cue the emotion. Cue the tissues. Cue the celebration!

The Dunn wedding was all of this and more! Oh my, where to begin!?

I have to start by saying that it was quite the honor to photograph Charlie and Brandi’s wedding day. What quality, beautiful, intentional and sweet people we had the joy of getting to know and photograph. For those of you who are reading this and know Charlie and Brandi, you understand this honor and joy. What a fun, memorable couple they make as Mr. and Mrs. to us!

While there are so many key, memorable moments from their day, I’m going to try to point out a few that made the Dunn wedding day unique and special. I don’t think many can say that Pat Green sang their First Dance song, so that sure stands out to me as memorable and special! He happens to be a relative of the newlywed couple, and it worked out ever so perfectly for him to sing Wave on Wave while the two, eyes locked on each other, danced their first of many dances on their wedding night. This was something else that I loved about Charlie and Brandi: their joy in being together.

It was important for them to make every guest feel welcomed and appreciated for joining in on the celebration, but once they did, Brandi and Charlie danced the night away together. They laughed together, they talked together and they ate cake together!! Y’all, I’m not sure if many couples are able to eat their delicious cake together, and I’m so glad they did. I’m so happy for them that they did. I’m so happy that they celebrated together and danced like it was their wedding night.

The two married at Highland Park Presbyterian Church where they not only attended but where they have served together. Charlie is the student minister of the church where he actually met and his future bride Brandi serving the youth there and on a specific mission trip. For them to marry in this magnificent, meaningful church with hundreds of their loved ones who they do life with and love–it was beautiful. And this only set the pace for the unending beauty of the day.

The rest of their wedding day was filled with phenomenal florals, bright beautiful pops of color, calligraphy details to dote over, stunning centerpieces and emotional moments. All of these combined created such a beautiful and fun wedding day for us to document.

What an honor it was to get to know such a genuine couple as Charlie and Brandi. The hearts of this couple are beautifully solid, and it’s easy for all to see who interact with them. Jordan told me that when he walked into the groom’s suite at the beginning of the day, Charlie rushed up to him to shake his hand and say, “Jordan! You must be Jordan! I’m so glad you’re here.” And this spoke volumes to Jordan and didn’t surprise me one bit. While we felt loved on their wedding day, we most definitely saw the love and. This love triggered tears for me not once but a few times throughout their celebration.

The love between Charlie and Brandi did not go unnoticed by any individual attending their wedding, and the love we were able to photograph during portrait time will forever stand out to me as pure, romantic and sweet, sweet, sweet. For a moment, I didn’t even have to guide the couple during portraits, because their joy directed the hugs and precious portraits that we captured. Raw, unposed, emotional portraits–priceless.

Again, what a JOY it was to document and remember this beautiful day! I hope you enjoy such a classic, stunning, meaningful wedding day over the blog!
