February 21, 2019
February 16th, 2019 was a beautiful day for the books. Oh my!
From the breathtaking reception space to the sweet intentions behind the bride and groom gifts, I was in complete and utter THRILL photographing Emily and Reid’s entire wedding day.
Truly.
And it literally started in the car as I was driving to the wedding with my husband, telling him about details of the day. When I got to the explanation of the bride’s gift, I couldn’t help but tear up. It was truly so sweet, so thoughtful and so FUN. She gifted him a journal + a Polaroid camera that they’ll be able to write not only entries in but also snap photos to enter in next to the entries.
The first entry? You guessed it–or maybe you didn’t, but it’s literally the SWEETEST thing ever (which is why I get teary thinking about it). She had a Polaroid picture taken of her applying the final layer of lipstick before she put her wedding dress on and taped it inside the first entry she had written. Just minutes later, Reid was opening this thoughtful gift, getting just a glimpse of his bride who he’d soon see during their “first look”. The look on his face was priceless, and I can only IMAGINE the feeling!
But these two–they’re literally perfect for one another. And I got many glimpses of this throughout the wedding day which continued to build and build my excitement for the two.
Because his gift to Emily was JUST as sweet, if not more, than hers.
At the rehearsal dinner, Reid gifted Emily a gold and diamond bracelet which she wore on her wedding day. But, oh, it wasn’t just any diamond bracelet. It had the sweetest story to go with it that left my jaw on the floor, I’m pretty sure. When Reid was 8 years old, he found this bracelet and with the help and encouragement of his mom, he decided to save it one day for his future bride.
That day came almost 20 years later, and the bracelet fit perfectly on Emily’s dainty wrists and displayed beautifully as she put on her wedding earrings–a sweet gift from her mother. The thoughtfulness sure was not lacking, but neither was the beauty–from every bridal detail to every stunning piece of reception floral and greenery–it was breathtaking.Â
Emily was absolutely radiant from when she was getting ready to the smoke bomb exit–I can see see her bright, undeniably joyful smile without looking at photographs. And I can see it even bigger during her portraits with Reid (or on the dance floor!), because….#husband. 😉
I seriously just adore this precious couple even more than the start of their wedding day, and I’m secretly (or not so) jealous (but oh so HAPPY for them) that they’re honeymooning it up (and hopefully taking MANY Polaroids) in Paris!
If I could copy and paste their fun compatibility and joyful ease, I would. And I couldn’t be happier that they found one another to share in this sweetness.
Congrats, Mr. and Mrs. Plauche!!
