Davenports to Dallas…We’re HERE!

June 29, 2015

We are officially moved, folks. We are Dallasites now! My parents are in Dallas with us helping us unpack while we’re enjoying showing them around, as well. I had no idea how much fun I would have showing them my elementary schools I’ll be at next year and all the little things we enjoy! Because they’re here, I’ll be taking the next couple of days off. I’ll get back to my editing soon enough before we head to Colorado for our first July wedding and our last vacation with the Davenports before we start work soon!

I’m going to leave you with a few fun memories we made while in Las Cruces in this blog post. 🙂 It’s only fitting!

“I’m going to try to blink every time her shutter clicks”.

If this is the mindset of your husband, fiancé, boyfriend….then you’re not alone! However, mine is just plain ornery! He never actually tried to do this. But he did make me giggle a little before by saying that. Poor thing has been talked into pictures more times than he wanted to this year.

BUT we HAD to! Why? Because we never had pictures taken with the Organ Mountains and all their glory while we lived in Las Cruces! So thankfully, a talented photographer friend agreed to help us out with this at the last minute! Thank you so much Desiree! If any of you are looking for photos, she’s your girl! She loves working with kiddos, because she has 3 of her own, and is the queen of cute, candid kid photos! However, she obviously rocks at couple pictures too! 😉

Now we have this memory of us in Las Cruces to share on the walls of our future home.

We can tell guests…

-how we met and fell in love in this town of Las Cruces

-how our favorite Mexican food restaurant there was Andeles

– mmmm and their green chile enchiladas!!

-how we ate way too much at the Chick-fil-a in the mall there

-how our nursing and speech pathology buildings were right next to each other at NMSU’s campus

-how this is the town where Jordan kicked for the NMSU Aggies

-how our McAlister tea and Sonic vanilla cream coke runs originated there

-……Jordan would literally go everyday for his free sweet eat until they stopped offering them….

-and how much we loved the people, places and things while we lived there for 6-7 years

We have a lot to be thankful for and plenty great memories in Las Cruces.

Now, we’re starting these memories in Dallas! Here’s to more “firsts” and some new adventures!
