Rain or shine. Wet roads or dry. Alyssa and Jake knew they were going to get married on October 31, 2015.
The Malone wedding was a unique wedding in that it was my first wedding to take place in a different venue than what was originally planned. However, it wasn’t about the venue. It wasn’t even about her wedding dress or the beautiful cake or incredible florals that decorated the bridesmaids or centerpieces.
It was about Jake & Alysa coming before their friends, family and the Lord and vowing to spend the rest of their lives together. It actually didn’t matter where they said it, because it wouldn’t have changed the emotion and joy felt by everyone on this lovely, sunny Saturday.
Alysa, stunning and peaceful in her baby’s breath crown, acted as if plans had never been changed. Everything fell together almost effortlessly as they moved the venue to a sentimental place for Alysa, personally. The camp she worked at for over a year became the place she kissed Jake as Mrs. Malone in front of the cross that made the statement even more powerful. This venue turned out to be the best. God had a plan that no one else could have orchestrated, and this plan was magnificent–full of treasured moments like when Alysa gave her parents a bridal picture of her; when Alysa’s dad saw her in her wedding dress; when Jake saw her walking down the aisle; and when the Maid of Honor and Best Man gave toasts that everyone either laughed or cried during.
And what her Maid of Honor said was so true. She said that Alysa is so content and rooted in the Lord that what people think of her doesn’t matter. Her confidence stands. And she displayed just this on her wedding day. Jake is a lucky man to have such a gem in her, but I know Alysa has found the same in him. Barely a few minutes into their husband and wife photos, I could tell that they were crazy in love with the sweetest kind.
I’m so happy for these two and that their day turned into such a beautiful, fun and sentimental day for everyone. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Malone!
