The Dallas Arboretum Elegant Wedding | Missy + Ian

September 17, 2020

I would relive this day a million times over if I could!

And I KNOW Missy and Ian sure would!

Elegant, romantic, sentimental–and so easy to photograph from a beauty-perspective but also from a personal. I don’t think you get as sweet and intentional as Missy, Ian and their family and friends. Talk about some loving, joyful people!

Both Missy and Ian’s wedding days started off as relaxed as could be–by the pool for the boys and sipping coffee in Missy’s childhood home for the girls. The entire day felt smooth, easy and filled with so much joy. As I photographed her details once I arrived, I just knew it was going to be a special day. Her dad was reading through his toast that he would give later on that night, and I was soaking up the natural light in their beautiful backyard while he did.

Little did he know what he’d be feeling just a couple hours later as he saw his sweet baby girl in her wedding dress–that once in a lifetime moment. And his SMILE! Such a proud daddy who shortly after that would walk his baby girl down the aisle, to her future husband, Ian.

Ian and Missy, you guys–what a pair! They’re not only incredibly beautiful to take pictures of, but they are incredibly beautiful on the inside which made my excitement levels rise, rise, rise as I clicked away! I basically couldn’t stop with the candids of this sweet bride–I could photograph her every moment on her wedding day, because it was simply just all so joyful, outward-focused and intentionally savored.

The way their loved ones celebrated them throughout the entire day is a testament to what kind of friends they are and what kind of people they are at their core. It did my heart some good seeing such a strong couple, who powered through having to postpone their wedding day due to Covid, be so celebrated and joyful come the end of their wedding day.

Wearing her mama’s bracelet, the most classy wedding dress and a smile that never faded, Missy has the most beautiful wedding day to remember! And I sure hope she never forgets those tears that filled in Ian’s eyes as she walked down the aisle to him, as beautiful as he’d ever seen her. I knew it would be a special moment for both of them when I simply told Ian about an hour earlier how stunning Missy looked–and he started tearing up.

Again, this couple! They’re perfect together, and I am so excited for them that they now get to make a marriage more beautiful than their wedding–together. What a joy!

Congrats, Mr. and Mrs. Zembower!
