What a fairytale. I, mean, truly.
Not only was the Elder wedding a fairytale from the outside looking in, but it was magical from the start.
Mary Allis and her best friends spent her wedding morning getting ready in her childhood home that she grew up in. Being a sentimental person, myself, I really loved this. I loved seeing portraits of Mary Allis growing up in the home. I loved how comfortable everyone felt, the beautiful backyard that I’m sure held more memories than I can imagine and the sweet send-off this home gave her.
November 7th literally couldn’t have been a more beautiful day. Since they chose this date, they had prayed for beautiful weather, and beautiful weather is 100% what they got. With an outdoor reception under the city lights, sky-scraper and tall, mature trees with string lights–it was 100% that–a fairytale, an answered prayer, a dream come true.
From the moment I met Mary Allis and her mom over coffee, I knew this bride was special. SO sweet. Beyond sweet. Lovely. So gorgeous. And just 100% as beautiful on the inside and she is on the outside. Every bit of the planning process with her was such a joy. It made me that much more excited to be with her throughout her and Austin’s wedding day.
And obviously, with that beauty, it sure made it fun for me to capture it on her wedding day! From her mom zipping her dress in the back-lit, beautiful backyard she grew up in to the husband and wife portraits in Highland Park, Mary Allis’ genuine smile displayed what everyone knew the day signified: pure joy and love between two very special people and families.
The Elders danced the night away under the string lights that hung from the trees. Their loved ones celebrated them on one of the most beautiful day in November, and they sent them on their way as husband and wife under beautiful sparklers.
Congrats, Mr. and Mrs. Elder! It was such an honor!!
