Lexie + Ian | Elegant Cistercian + The Adolphus Wedding

November 3, 2020

Lexie and Ian are so easy to love.

SO EASY.

I love every moment with them from the time I met Lexie over our first consultation, to their engagement session and finally their wedding. Their connection is something so deep, so sweet and so obvious. I am just so dang happy that these two found one another, and I’m honored that I got to photograph such a beautiful day for them.

With such a beautiful color palette, lovely details and the sweetest chemistry between husband and wife, it was sure to be a day for the books!

Not only were Ian and Lexie so sweet, but I always love watching the interaction and genuine excitement that the wedding party and family has for the wedding couple. Lexie and Ian’s support-base was exceptional. They had so many loved ones who loved on them all day long. And I am not the least bit surprised! They’re easy to love.

They each started their days getting ready at The Adolphus Hotel downtown where Lexie walked down the white marble steps to her groom. They shared their first look on their wedding day where neither could smile any bigger than they did. I especially can’t get enough of Ian’s sweet smile as he took in all the beauty and elegance that was his bride, Lexie. I could just bottle that moment UP! In this moment, they chose to exchange vows and read them silently. This was so sweet, intimate and special.

It jump-started sweet bride-and-groom portraits that we took outside of The Adolphus which led into a fun, quick round of wedding party photos. The weather and light literally couldn’t have been more lovely with the soft overcast lighting.

Lexie and Ian married at Cistercian and whole-heartedly celebrated their nuptials with all of their loved ones at their reception at the Adolphus. And I’m telling you, what an elegant ballroom full of lovely florals and details to make their dreams come true–without sounding too cliche. It just DID.

What a dream.

I loved that Lexie and Ian looked as though they were having the absolute time of their lives on the dance floor. Not only with their friends but with each other–it’s so obvious to see how deep their friendship goes and how much fun they have together. I feel like I was oftentimes just smiling as I photographed their reception, because it was so fun to watch and document such joy. I mean–you’ll see! 🙂

JOY. LOVE. BEAUTY.

Mr. and Mrs. White, I am beyond happy for you two!!
