I could start this blog post so many different ways, but I’m going to choose this one:

Ryan and Alex are one special couple. And I wish I could find a more appropriate adjective than “special”, but if you personally know these two, then you understand what I’m trying to articulate.

They are special. That kind of couple that you are just drawn to, want to learn from, laugh with and get closer to.

I felt this firsthand when I initially met Alex over coffee with her best friend Cheyenne. After a few short minutes into our consultation, I could tell that she was an ideal bride for me.–so gentle in spirit, fun, beautiful and full of joy. When I met Ryan shortly thereafter during their engagement session, I wasn’t surprised that she had chosen a man of such equal character. I remember when I got home from their engagement session, my excitement was overflowing so much that I couldn’t stop talking about it to my husband.

Their joy rubbed off on me, and I was so excited about how fun they were to visit with and photograph. Ever since then, I’ve been anxiously awaiting their wedding day.

I knew that it would be nothing short of special, lovely and so much fun. There were moments on their wedding day that I felt all the feels with them as my eyes filled with tears. Moments where I laughed out loud and wanted to dance with them in celebration (wish I could dance like those bridesmaids!). Moments where I just wanted to squeeze the heck out of them, because I was so joyful for them.

Just as Alex and Ryan, the group of friends and family surrounding them were such a joy with which to work. The details of their day were so beautifully simple and chic with their pops of burgundy and lovely blush. The necklace Ryan gifted Alex, which contained diamonds from her mother’s wedding ring and the framed verses which Alex gifted him were two favorite moments of their wedding day where I felt with them and just loved it. The thought, love and planning put into their wedding day was so honorable.

While I hope these two look back on their wedding day and remember the joy, celebration and beauty that surrounded them, I hope they remember these deep, intimate moments, as well. What a perfect, God-glorifying wedding these two were blessed to archive in their memories forever and ever. Biggest hugs to them both!
