The Grand Ivory Spring Wedding | Lindsey & Cole

March 22, 2020

Oh, bright floral dreams: COMING TRUE!

What a spectacular wedding day Lindsey and Cole shared–in more ways than the obvious brilliance that was their floral ceremony backdrop and dream of a reception hall.

Their wedding took place on March 14, just in the nick of time. When guest attendance was in question due to the COVID-19 outbreak, everyone showed.

It was as if LOVE beat FEAR. Aside from the necessary hand-sanitizer in strategic places, LOVE won. The love between Cole and Lindsey, their families and friends was to evident, obvious and celebrated SO big, SO beautifully, and SO perfectly. What an incredible team that the planners of RK Weddings & Events coordinated–the florals were immaculate, the reception hall design–creative, the details–on point, the band–FULL of energy and entertainment, the hair and makeup–flawless. All the vendors, all of their family, all of their friends showed up to celebrate and love on Lindsey and Cole’s love–in SUCH a beautiful way!

Not only were guests in attendance, but the timing of rain was almost as if we’d planned it. We had soft, lovely clouds, cooler temperatures which are a gift in Texas, and the downpour of rain waited until all the guests were inside dancing, having the time of their lives, oblivious to the fact that it was even raining. Everything truly fell into place as it should, and it allowed Lindsey and Cole a relaxing morning of getting ready, hanging with their best friends as they prepared for the day and a picture-perfect ceremony and reception venue.

I said it once, and I’ll say it again: if it’s going to rain on your wedding day, you’d want The Grand Ivory as your venue! The ceremony space was covered but allowed the most beautiful natural light to come in and reflect off of the white pews, floors and ceiling. This is a photographer’s dream in this situation. And to put the biggest cherry on top: Petals Couture designed the most incredible floral backdrop that displayed so much colorful beauty in the background of photos and as the backdrop of Lindsey and Cole’s nuptials.

As the string quartet played their beautiful music while Lindsey walked down the aisle to Cole, their smiles shared it all: love will ALWAYS win. Rain or shine, illness or health, love wins. They anxious said “I do” as they awaited those 5 simple words the officiant would say…. “you may kiss your bride”! And the rest is history!

Lindsey and Cole, your wedding day came together so beautifully, and it was quite the honor and JOY to photograph for you! I hope you feel as though your love can conquer and trump anything! It’s so worth it!
